MakerPlace by Michaels launched on August 1, 2023. The launch video looks pretty neat, if I say so myself. The site is intended to compete with Etsy to help makers sell their products and connect with fellow makers to teach new skills using the class ecosystem. It also lets makers buy all the tools and supplies they need to complete the task without hunting for each item individually. It’s a neat concept and I look forward to seeing how people use it. I’ll need some additional time to pour through what’s in production and share how I contributed because it’s my first time seeing the site outside of staging environments. There’s nothing like working on a project and seeing it go to production.
